Iran’s Special Representative for Afghanistan: The Taliban has two conditions for participating in the Doha meeting
Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s special representative for Afghanistan, has stated that the Taliban has two conditions for participating in the Doha meeting but did not provide further details.
Mr. Qomi wrote on his X account that the interim government has announced two important conditions for its participation in Doha. It is a good opportunity to see how serious the proposition of finding a fair way for interaction, which is mentioned as one of the meeting’s objectives, is. He did not explain these conditions.
He added that if the regional contact committee’s path is considered by others and the path of interaction is followed, we will face a stable Afghanistan.
The Iranian government actively supports the initiative of the regional contact committee, which seeks a primary role for neighboring and regional countries in Afghanistan’s affairs.
The United Nations meeting in Doha regarding Afghanistan is scheduled to be held on February 18 and 19.
