A communication channel between Iran and the U.S. was established in the Strait of Hormuz
Press TV, the English-language network of IRIB, reported that Iran and the U.S. have established a communication channel in the Strait of Hormuz to prevent incidents that could lead to increased military tensions.
This report was released a day after J.D. Vance, the Vice President of the United States, announced the creation of this communication channel and described it as a significant achievement.
Press TV, citing a knowledgeable source, stated that this channel was established based on the final statement of mediators following last week’s negotiations in Zurich and aims to prevent incidents in the Strait of Hormuz and implement the provisions of the Islamabad agreement.
The report also states that according to the agreement between Iran and the U.S., the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz must follow the routes announced by Iran. Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister, also emphasized on Friday that the safe passage of ships cannot be guaranteed without coordination with Iran.
