Islamic Republic Calls for Emergency Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

The Islamic Republic called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Ali Baqeri, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, requested the convening of an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a telephone conversation with the Qatari Foreign Minister on Friday, August 2nd.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Baqeri, in this conversation, emphasized the necessity of Islamic countries’ reaction to the killing of a prominent Palestinian leader and the violation of Iran’s national security, requesting an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the level of foreign ministers.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, also welcomed the holding of an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in condemning Israel’s actions.
