The Istanbul police provided details regarding yesterday’s incident, stating that the perpetrator of the Istanbul explosion is Syrian and received orders from the PKK.

A Turkish television network reported that the woman, identified by some sources as Jian Tosun, is of Syrian nationality and received instructions from the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, for the explosion in Istanbul.

The police said they have arrested 46 other suspects in connection with this incident.

The Turkish Minister of Justice also stated that, according to CCTV footage, a woman sat on one of the street benches for 40 minutes, and one or two minutes after she got up, the explosion occurred.
