Italy is reopening its embassy in Tehran

The Italian Foreign Minister announced that the country’s embassy in Tehran will resume its activities on Friday

According to the ANSA news agency, Antonio Tajani said in the Italian parliament that our embassy in Tehran will be reopened on Friday

Italy had temporarily suspended its embassy activities in Tehran due to recent regional conflicts and tensions. Tajani said that the Italian ambassador, along with diplomats and foreign ministry staff, will return to Tehran as part of the reopening process

The Italian Foreign Minister described recent agreements between Iran and the United States as an encouraging development and said there is a glimmer of peace in the Middle East that should not be lost

He also announced that he will have talks with Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and Italy is ready to support efforts to turn the agreement between Tehran and Washington into a lasting peace

In another part of his speech, Tajani emphasized the importance of restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying this issue is crucial for Italy’s economy
