Jahangir, the Judiciary Spokesman: 80% of Crime Increase is Due to Inflation

Jahangir, the spokesperson for the judiciary, says that eighty percent of the reason for the increase in crimes is due to high prices.

According to reports from the Statistics Center, the rate of theft in Iran has increased approximately fourfold compared to the last years of the 2010s.

On Thursday, May 15th, while the heads of the branches of power, in a coordinated move, attacked Donald Trump’s recent speeches about the dire economic situation in Iran under the Islamic Republic and denied the existing problems, a meeting titled ‘Crime Prevention’ was held in the judiciary. During this meeting, Asghar Jahangir, the spokesperson for the judiciary, admitted that the root of about 80 percent of crimes in Iran lies in inflation and high prices.
