Javadi ranked fifth in weightlifting at the Paris Olympics

Mir Mostafa Javadi finished fifth in weightlifting at the Paris Olympics.

In the 89kg weightlifting event at the 2024 Olympics, Mir Mostafa Javadi from Iran did not win a medal and placed fifth.

Javadi started with a lift of 164kg, lifted 168kg overhead, but failed to lift 171kg in his third attempt.

The Iranian champion of 2023 lifted 204kg in his first clean and jerk attempt, but only managed to lift 217kg in his second and third attempts, finishing fifth with a total of 372kg.

In this weight category, Carlos Nacar from Bulgaria set new world and Olympic records in the clean and jerk and total lifts, confidently standing on the top podium with 404kg to claim the gold.

Lopez from Colombia won silver with 390kg, while Antonio Pizzolato from Italy repeated his bronze medal performance from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Iran will be represented by Ali Davoudi, the silver medalist from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 102kg category, in weightlifting at the Paris Olympics.
