Joe Biden in meeting with Zelensky: Ukraine will never be alone
US President Joe Biden said during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the US will stand by Ukraine in the war for as long as necessary.
He told Mr. Zelensky during his visit to the White House that you will never be alone.
This is Mr. Zelensky’s first trip since Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine in late February.
On Wednesday night, after talks with his counterpart at the White House, Mr. Zelensky addressed the US Congress to call for continued US aid, which he described as vital.
In Congress, he said that Ukraine needs more weapons and requires more artillery and ammunition to drive out Russian forces.
In the Wednesday meeting, Joe Biden approved a new $2 billion aid package for Ukraine and promised an additional $45 billion in aid, which must first be approved by Congress.
He also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of ending this brutal war.
