This senior European diplomat further stated that the international community’s long-ignored calls must now be heeded. UN Security Council Resolution 2728 must be fully and urgently implemented to release prisoners and alleviate the suffering of those affected by famine. A ceasefire is essential.

He appreciated the effective efforts of UNRWA and other UN agencies, stating that Israel is obligated to ensure unimpeded, safe, and rapid access for those in need of humanitarian aid.
