Judiciary of Hormozgan Province: 4 large fuel smuggling tanks discovered in Qeshm

Mojtaba Ghahremani, the head of the judiciary of Hormozgan Province, has announced the discovery of 4 large fuel smuggling tanks on the coast of Qeshm Island.

He stated that after obtaining information and conducting patrols, they were able to identify the underground tanks and the storage site of the large fuel smuggling shipment in the coastal village of Deyrestan.

According to the head of the judiciary of Hormozgan Province, the fuel smugglers were transferring the smuggled petroleum products to vessels at sea through 8 pipelines, each over 3 kilometers long, from underground networks composed of 4 large fuel tanks and warehouses built beneath the ground.

Each of these underground tanks had the capacity to hold 200,000 liters of smuggled fuel.

Mr. Ghahremani added that the ringleader of the fuel smuggling network has been identified and an order for his arrest has been issued.

In recent months, numerous reports have been published regarding the smuggling of petroleum products and fuel in Iran.

The provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan are at the forefront of news related to fuel smuggling.
