The spokesperson for the Judiciary: 15 escaped prisoners from Evin Prison are still at large
Asghar Jahangir, the spokesperson for the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic, regarding the latest status of the escaped prisoners from Evin Prison following the Israeli attack on June 23, said that 15 of these prisoners are still at large and arrest warrants have been issued for them.
According to Jahangiri, among these individuals, 14 are accused of financial crimes and one has a history of theft.
He added that the initial count of escaped prisoners was 76, but DNA tests revealed that three of them were killed during the Israeli attack.
The spokesperson for the Judiciary emphasized that 58 prisoners, who initially fled out of fear and panic, have either turned themselves in or have been arrested.
Jahangiri expressed hope that the remaining individuals will soon be apprehended and returned to Evin.
On June 23, the Israeli army attacked Evin Prison by firing missiles and explosive projectiles, which, according to Islamic Republic officials, resulted in over 70 deaths and dozens of injuries.
