Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, one of the first casualties of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ protests in the city of Dehgolan, was arrested on Tuesday, April 10, after being summoned to the public and revolutionary prosecutor’s office in the city of Qorveh.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that Mr. Lotfi was transferred to an unknown location after his arrest.

The reason for his arrest is still unknown.

Security forces had also arrested Kamal Lotfi in April 2023, and after 87 days, he was temporarily released on bail on July 3, 2023.

Reza Lotfi, the son of Kamal Lotfi, was killed on September 19, 2022, during the Dehgolan protests by gunfire from special unit forces.
