Kamala Harris’s conversation about her three possible choices for her vice presidency in the US presidential election
Harris will soon select her deputy and by introducing this companion in the election, she will embark on a great election tour in seven states.
Harris is expected to announce the name of her deputy by the hours leading up to Tuesday afternoon and may even wait until before the start of her big meeting in Philadelphia. Many believe that the start of this election tour with Pennsylvania signifies a high chance for Josh Shapiro, the governor of this state. Josh Shapiro, along with Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, and Mark Kelly, the senator from Arizona, are the main contenders for Harris’s vice presidency. Harris had a face-to-face conversation with these three on Monday.
Various factions of Democrats have become active against Shapiro’s vice presidency. Progressives and far-left extremists have created serious waves against him due to his Jewish background. Their excuse is his support for Israel and his opposition to anti-Israel protesters, despite him being one of the earliest critics of Netanyahu among Democrats and his criticism of anti-Israel demonstrations as anti-Semitic.
Shapiro is a capable politician and a good speaker. His executive and managerial track record is very excellent.
Tim Walts is popular among progressives and Bernie Sanders supporters.
On the other hand, Nancy Pelosi also likes him, and even Biden prefers Walts over Shapiro. Walts is seen as a progressive governor with appeal to different middle-class segments, especially white Americans, and is a strong supporter of economically just policies. He is familiar with the language and understanding of both the white and black middle class. Mark Kelly, a senator from Arizona with a brilliant background in the Air Force, is famous for being a well-known astronaut and his wife, a famous politician who was a victim of public shooting and assassination. He is respected by all, but he has not placed himself in the hearts of Democrats as much as Shapiro and Walts. His state is a key state and he has excellent answers for the border and immigration crisis, which is a weak point for Democrats.
