Kamal Lotfi was arrested after being summoned to the public court of Qorveh.

Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, one of the first casualties of the protests for women’s freedom in the city of Dehgolan, was arrested after being summoned to the public and revolutionary court of Qorveh on Tuesday, April 10.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that Mr. Lotfi has been transferred to an unknown location after his arrest.

The reason for his arrest is still unclear.

Security forces had previously arrested Kamal Lotfi in the month of Farvardin 1402 and released him on bail temporarily on Tir 12, 1402, after 87 days.

Reza Lotfi, the son of Kamal Lotfi, was shot and killed by special forces during the Dehgolan protests on September 19, 2022.

Security forces threatened Kamal Lotfi to force him to confess in a TV interview that his son was killed by opposition groups. After a few days, he released a video stating that his son was killed by police gunfire.
