Kasra Hospital’s statement: We received Mahsa in a state of brain death

Following the announcement of Mahsa Amini’s passing, Kasra Hospital stated in a post on their Instagram page that Mahsa was brought to the hospital already brain dead. Part of the statement reads:

Ms. Mahsa Amini was referred to Kasra Hospital at 20:22 on Tuesday, September 13th, with a cardiac and respiratory arrest, code 99, without vital signs and with double mydriasis indicative of brain death. Special efforts by the resuscitation team were made, resulting in the return of her heartbeat, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit. Unfortunately, after 48 hours, on Friday, the patient suffered another cardiac arrest, and despite the medical team’s efforts, resuscitation was not successful due to brain death, and the patient passed away. Thus, immediately after her death, Ms. Mahsa Amini’s body was referred to the forensic medicine department for further investigation.
