Kazem Sedighi’s reaction to land grabbing: I was unaware, my signature was forged.
Following the release of documents on social media regarding Kazem Sedighi, the interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran, he responded to this claim in a letter to the Tehran prosecutor. The text of this letter is as follows:
Honorable Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Tehran, Greetings.
It is presented that the Imam Khomeini Seminary, within the framework of its statute, decided years ago to establish an educational and cultural pre-seminary complex to facilitate the entry of teenagers and students interested in learning religious and seminary subjects. For this purpose, it sought to obtain the necessary legal permits. Accordingly, it was necessary for institutions affiliated with the Imam Khomeini Seminary to be established, and a portion of the land belonging to the seminary was to be transferred to that institution to create this pre-seminary center.
Based on this, an individual named Mr. [name omitted], who was previously trusted by the organization, was assigned to handle the administrative registration of the institute. Unfortunately, this individual abused the trust by drafting and registering the statute, forging my signature, allocating shares in that manner, and doing so without the knowledge of the seminary’s management and some members. Regrettably, this was registered even without my entry and signature and that of some members.
Therefore, the institute was registered in the manner publicized by the media without my knowledge and that of the seminary management, and contrary to its approved objectives. Hence, I, Kazem Sedighi, from the position of the trustee of the Imam Khomeini Seminary and as a citizen, without considering judicial records and social-political titles, request the official filing of a complaint against the mentioned individual and other involved parties for forgery and breach of trust, so that the dimensions of this issue become clear and transparent to the dear people of Iran, especially the faithful.
