Khalil Aqab has passed away

Khalil Aqab, the Iranian strongman known for extraordinary feats such as bending iron beams or lying under a truck’s wheels, and also famed as the Father of the Iranian Circus, has died at the age of 98.

Khalil Tariqatpeyma, known as Khalil Aqab, was born in 1924 in the city of Shiraz, Iran.

The IRNA news agency reported that Mr. Tariqatpeyma passed away Thursday night in Shiraz after being hospitalized for some time.

The Guinness World Records website has recorded Khalil Aqab lifting a two-ton elephant in 1975.
