Kimia Alizadeh, the only Iranian female medalist in Olympic history, joined the national taekwondo team of Bulgaria.
The president of the taekwondo federation of Bulgaria says she is a potential gold medalist. We are in contact with the government to quickly prepare the documents. The deadline for her membership in our team or the refugee team is April 15. We expect to receive maximum government support in the coming days.
Slavi Binev emphasized that in many countries she could have obtained her passport at the airport. There was a lot of interest from countries like Germany, Belgium, and others, but we have taken her under our wing. I thank Farzad for establishing the connection.
The president of the Bulgarian federation referred to Farzad Zolghadr, the son of Gholamhossein Zolghadr, who spent three decades as the value manager of Mohammad Pouladgar’s national taekwondo teams, the secretary of the federation, and the national team coach.
Kimia Alizadeh said about joining Bulgaria, ‘I can promise to give 100% of myself in every competition. The past is past, but the future is on the way. I will put all my excitement and effort into Bulgaria.’
