The Kremlin does not welcome the potential US attack on Iran's interests as it would increase tensions in the region

The Kremlin does not welcome a possible US attack on Iran’s interests due to increased tensions in the region.

The Kremlin has stated in response to the recent deadly attack on a US base in Jordan that it does not welcome a possible US attack on Iran’s interests, citing increased tensions in the region.

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian presidential office, told reporters on Wednesday, February 10th, that we do not welcome any actions that would lead to instability and increased tensions in the region, especially considering the excessive capacity for engagement.

He added that we will not welcome the continuation of such actions, regardless of the party behind them.

In the drone attack on the early morning of February 8th on a small US desert base in Jordan, in addition to the killing of three US military personnel, at least 34 individuals were injured and eight of the wounded were transferred outside of Jordan for further treatment.

While Washington believes that Tehran was behind this attack, President Biden has announced that the country will retaliate in a proportional manner.
