The trial for the 2022 case of Tomaj Salehi was held in Isfahan.
Mostafa Nili, a lawyer, wrote on the social network X on Thursday, April 18th, that in this session, with the opinion of the judges of the Revolutionary Court, two charges of assembly and conspiracy and aiding in rebellion were added to the previous charge.
Mr. Nili further stated that considering the final defense has been taken, we must await the decision of the court’s judges and the announcement of the verdict.
Rebellion means armed and collective uprising against the regime, and according to Islamic penal law, if a person engages in armed uprising against the regime, they are sentenced to death.
Tomaj Salehi, a rapper, was released on bail on November 18th this year after enduring 252 days in solitary confinement and a total of one year and 21 days in prison. However, only 12 days later, after a video was released in which he described being tortured in prison, he was re-arrested with violence.
