The leopard hunter in Gilan has been arrested

Rahman Pourhossein, the head of the Rudsar Department of Environmental Protection, says that following the acquisition of news and information regarding the hunting of a leopard and the sale of its skin, experts and protection unit officers, in coordination with the county prosecutor, succeeded in arresting the offender and the seller of this leopard’s skin.

According to this official from the Department of Environmental Protection, the offender has been handed over to the judicial authorities for legal proceedings after a case was filed.

The Iranian leopard is considered one of the protected species and is at risk of extinction, and according to Iranian law, hunting it carries a fine of 120 million Tomans.
