Lufthansa Airlines has extended the cancellation of flights to Tehran and Beirut.
Lufthansa Airlines announced on Friday, April 18, that it has extended the suspension of its flights from and to Tehran and Beirut until April 30.
A spokesperson for the largest European airline told the media that Lufthansa will not be using Iranian airspace during this specified time.
The company’s website states that the safety of passengers and flight crew is Lufthansa’s top priority, and the situation in the Middle East is constantly monitored by the company.
Last week, following the increased tensions between the Islamic Republic and Israel and threats by Iranian authorities to attack Israeli soil, Lufthansa announced the suspension of its flights from Vienna to Tehran until April 18.
At the same time, Austrian Airlines also made a similar decision, and two Australian airlines, Qantas and KLM, announced that they will change their flight routes and will not enter Iranian airspace.
As of now, Austrian Airlines has not announced any decision regarding the continuation of the suspension of flights to Tehran.
