Macron Considers Russian Army a Source of Tension for Europe’s Security

Macron considered the Russian army as a source of tension for Europe’s security.

The French President, who has always tried to keep the door open for dialogue with his Russian counterpart, discussed the Zaporizhzhia power plant crisis with him in a relatively unexpected conversation on Sunday. Putin’s surprising remarks and his blaming of Ukrainians as the threat to the plant angered Macron, and he regarded the Russian army as a source of tension and a serious danger to Eastern Europe’s security in the event of a disaster at the Zaporizhzhia plant.

Macron seriously urged Putin to withdraw his soldiers from the Zaporizhzhia region, which naturally did not receive a serious response.
