Maduro’s Telegraph in a Secret Conversation with Trump Requested Protection for $200 Million of His Assets
The British Telegraph magazine reported on Thursday, December 3, citing informed sources, that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, as part of an agreement with Donald Trump to step down, requested the protection of $200 million of his personal wealth.
According to the Telegraph, in his recent phone conversation with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, Maduro requested that $200 million of his personal assets be protected in exchange for surrendering and leaving the country, and that senior officials in his government receive full amnesty.
The magazine also announced that another condition of Nicolas Maduro was to seek asylum in a friendly country.
According to the Telegraph, the 15-minute conversation between the two leaders failed due to Maduro’s request for full amnesty for about 100 senior Venezuelan officials.
These sources also stated that the two leaders disagreed on how to form a transitional government and on Maduro’s place of residence after leaving Venezuela.
According to this report, Trump had suggested China or Russia, but Maduro insisted on staying in the Western Hemisphere, in a country like Cuba.
