Mahsa Shakibaei won the gold medal in judo at the Asian Youth Games.

Mahsa Shakibaei, the representative of the under 48 kg weight category for the Iranian girls’ judo team, won the gold medal at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain by defeating her Kazakh opponent in the final.

In the final match, she succeeded in defeating Alua Baltabay from Kazakhstan with an ippon to secure her first gold medal in these competitions.

Prior to this, Shakibaei had advanced to the final by defeating representatives from Indonesia, Jordan, India, and Kazakhstan.

In this weight category, judokas from Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan also won joint bronze medals by defeating their opponents from Uzbekistan and India.
