Martin Scorsese: Maybe I’ll come back with a new film in a few years
Martin Scorsese, the famous Hollywood director, received the honorary Golden Bear award for lifetime achievement in cinema at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. During the award ceremony, which was held on the evening of Tuesday, February 20, with the presence of renowned cinema stars, Scorsese jokingly said, ‘Maybe I’ll come back again in a few years.’ At the red carpet ceremony for awarding the special prize to Scorsese, notable attendees included German filmmaker Wim Wenders with his wife, renowned Hollywood actress Sharon Stone, Turkish-German filmmaker Fatih Akin, and Claudia Roth, the German government’s Minister of State for Culture. Francesca Scorsese accompanied her father at this event.
This 81-year-old director’s new film, titled ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ has been nominated for 10 Oscars. It is based on a true story and depicts the serial murders of Native Americans in the state of Oklahoma during the 1920s. Concurrently with these chain murders, oil was discovered on the lands of the Osage tribe.
