Mashregh News denied Kayhan’s report

Taeb did not register for the Assembly of Experts

The Kayhan newspaper published a report stating that in the new term elections of the Assembly of Experts, not only was Rouhani disqualified, but there are other clerical figures, who are actually associated with the principlist faction, that were also not qualified.

Kayhan continued by writing that Hojjat al-Islam Moslehi, the Minister of Intelligence during Ahmadinejad’s era, Hojjat al-Islam Pourmohammadi, the Secretary-General of the Combatant Clergy Association, and Hojjat al-Islam Taeb in this same period, as well as prominent figures like Mr. Sedighi, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran, Agha Tehrani, and others in the previous term all respected the Guardian Council’s opinion. So why does Mr. Hassan Rouhani challenge the country’s legal structures with controversy?

This claim is made while, in this regard, a knowledgeable source informed Mashregh that Hojjat al-Islam Taeb did not register for the Assembly of Experts elections.
