Masoud Pezeshkian: We solve problems with round-the-clock work

The President, during the inauguration ceremony of water and electricity projects in Golestan Province, said all officials must move in the path of service with round-the-clock work.

Masoud Pezeshkian, referring to the country’s energy situation, stated that at the beginning of the government’s responsibility, they faced a 20,000-megawatt electricity deficit. However, by increasing reserves and implementing management programs, widespread electricity and gas outages have been prevented this year. He added that about 2,000 megawatts have returned to the grid from organizing consumption in the cryptocurrency sector, and nearly 3,000 megawatts have been saved by people’s conservation efforts, although consumption levels remain high.

The President identified the development of solar energy and the shift from gas to electricity consumption as the government’s main programs and said this action will help reduce air pollution and will not cost the people anything.

Pezeshkian also mentioned the elimination of preferential currency, saying this decision was initially implemented in the field of inputs, and a task force headed by the Central Bank Governor has been formed to reduce issues, with some authority being delegated to the governors.

He emphasized the necessity of eliminating redundant regulations and delegating authority to provincial managers, stating that development must be logical. He warned that continuing the current trend in the water and environmental sectors, including land subsidence and the Tehran water crisis, could have serious consequences.
