Masoud Pezeshkian: When we can talk, why should we fight?
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, defended the continuation of negotiations with the United States on the second anniversary of his inauguration, saying when we can claim our rights through dialogue, why should we fight?
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will not back down from its positions, but considered the continuation of war as a path that, according to him, Israel desires to force Tehran into submission.
He also said that through dialogue, Iran has been able to stop the Lebanon war, lift the blockade, and reduce some sanctions.
The President of Iran further announced the presence of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in the negotiating team and said representatives from the judiciary, parliament, armed forces, and other institutions are also present in this team to show that we are all together.
Pezeshkian, in response to verbal attacks against Abbas Araghchi, also said, I do not know which religion or sect allows a person to slander, insult, or disrespect another.
He also criticized those who, according to him, express opinions on everything with incomplete information and said that commenting on complex issues without sufficient information can mislead society.
