Massoumeh Ebtekar: A harsh approach cannot be the answer for young people who only want a better life.
The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs in the twelfth government highlighted that the accumulated demands and dissatisfaction due to the inefficiency of responsible bodies during protests, the decline of national media power alongside the relentless assault by media outlets whose identities are intertwined with hostility towards Iran, and their exploitation of the youth’s anger have all created a situation where the alarm for blind violence has been sounded. This violence yields nothing but destruction for either side.
While it seems that some do not hear the echo of the protesting youth’s cries, those who care are increasingly worried about the destruction and darkness, and they tremble for the precious lives falling on both sides, realizing this is a lose-lose equation. Moreover, the government bears the responsibility for this situation and must answer for the circumstances that have arisen.
A harsh approach cannot be the answer for young people who only want a better life, even if they are influenced by enemy media or social networks, for which the national media is primarily to blame.
