Masoumeh Ebtekar: The violation by the Tehran Friday Prayer Leader started in 2012
Following the revelation of the 4200-square-meter garden of the Imam Khomeini Seminary and the controversies surrounding Kazem Sedighi, the temporary Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran, Masoumeh Ebtekar, the former head of the Environmental Protection Organization and former member of the Tehran City Council, posted an old news image in a tweet, writing:
Do you remember in 2012, during a Tehran City Council session, one of my Tuesday warnings in the public session was about revealing the disregard and collusion of this gentleman’s associates in the matter of tree cutting and the destruction of the gardens of Azgol? Comparing aerial images from 2005 and 2011 showed how many trees had been cut in this seminary. The violation had started back then.
