Mawlavi Abdul Hamid confirms reports of sexual assault on female prisoners

He wrote in a tweet that news about sexual assault on female prisoners with the intent to humiliate, suppress, and force confessions has been reflected in the media, and the accounts of some prisoners confirm this matter.

Mawlavi Abdul Hamid further stated that if proven, the perpetrators of these crimes are certainly the greatest corrupters on earth.

He addressed the judiciary, writing that these individuals should be tried and given the maximum punishment.

CNN has reported, through an investigative report, on sexual assault and rape of some detainees from recent protests in Iranian prisons.

CNN published this report based on the testimony of several released detainees or hospital sources, confirming that young women and teenage girls and boys have been raped in prisons.

Most cases of rape and sexual abuse are related to western Iran and Kurdish regions, including in the detention centers of Urmia.
