Mawlavi Abdulrahman Omarzehi was summoned to the Intelligence Office

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, Mawlavi Abdulrahman Omarzehi, one of the Friday prayer leaders of Iranshahr, was summoned to the Intelligence Office of this city on Sunday, March 12th.

According to this report, Mr. Omarzehi has repeatedly supported the positions of Mawlavi Abdulhamid, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan and one of the influential Sunni leaders in Iran, in recent months.

The Kalameh Network, quoting an informed source, has announced that Mawlavi Abdulrahman Omarzehi had previously emphasized to the worshippers that they should not be satisfied with the state-appointed Friday prayer leader if he was summoned to the Intelligence Office and did not return.

In recent months, the summoning of Sunni clerics by government agencies has increased significantly, including Mawlavi Abdolghaffar Naqshbandi, the interim Friday prayer leader of Rask, who was summoned to the Special Clerical Court in Mashhad on September 27th after confirming in a statement the news of the Chabahar police commander’s assault on a 15-year-old Baloch girl. Since Mr. Naqshbandi’s visit to this court, there has been no information about him.
