Bessant: Maximum pressure might prevent the widespread resumption of war with Iran

Scott Bessant, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, claimed in an interview with CNBC that applying maximum economic pressure on Iran could reduce the likelihood of a widespread resumption of military operations.

Bessant said if we apply maximum economic pressure, we probably will not witness a widespread resumption of military operations.

He also announced the U.S. plans to impose more sanctions on Iran with the cooperation of Washington’s allies.
