Medical Deputy: The Anti-Infiltration Plan Could Sever All of Iran’s International Scientific Relations

1 Min Read

The Deputy of Medical Affairs says the plan to counter infiltration could sever all of Iran’s international scientific relations.

Hossein Afshin, the Deputy for Science and Technology to the President of Iran, warned that the approval of the plan to counter foreign infiltration with its current provisions could practically sever all international scientific relations of the country and lead to a scientific recession. He stated that the government strongly opposes the current form of this plan.

The general outlines of this plan, which was proposed in the Parliament in July 2025, were approved in an open session on August 16 this year, and so far, two articles of it have been passed. The review of other articles is still ongoing.

The government has warned about the restriction of scientific cooperation, the increase in the migration of elites, and the domestic and international consequences of this plan.

Majid Ansari, the Legal Deputy to the President, had previously described this plan as contrary to certain principles of the constitution, citizens’ rights, and individual freedoms, and in some cases against religious standards, and called for its removal from the agenda or its re-examination with the participation of the government and the judiciary.
