The University of Medical Sciences stated the nurse’s suicide was not related to work issues.

One day after the news of the suicide of a 32-year-old nurse working at Imam Khomeini Hospital in Kermanshah was published, Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences released a statement denying that the nurse’s suicide was due to work-related issues and the project.

The statement mentioned that the duration of the nursing project is 24 months, which can be extended up to 53 months based on conditions. Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences claimed that this nurse’s project had ended on October 12th of the previous year after completing the legal duration of 53 months.

Reports quoting this person’s friends stated that he ended his life after his contract was not renewed and due to mental pressures.

Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam, the Secretary-General of the Nurses’ House, also confirmed this matter to ILNA news agency, saying that he was a project nurse, and during the Corona period and until recently, his project was extended. However, a few months ago, this nurse’s contract was not renewed, and afterward, he remained unemployed for a while and unfortunately ended his life.
