Members of the Parliament did not have any involvement in filtering.

The candidate for the twelfth term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly elections from the Hamedan and Famenin constituency stated that the filtering of social networks was not carried out by the parliament members, but rather it was approved and implemented by the Supreme National Security Council.

Ahmad Hossein Fallahi stated on Thursday among reporters that he is against filtering in the virtual space and believes that the cyberspace should be regulated by law.

He added that currently, especially during election campaigns, due to the lack of regulations, users share inappropriate content on social networks, and no one faces any consequences.

This parliamentary representative mentioned that the Parliament was trying to legislate and regulate the cyberspace by proposing a bill to protect the virtual space, but the progress of this proposal was slow in the Parliament, and the head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly did not pursue this matter.

The candidate for the twelfth term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly elections stated that he is not active on social networks like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram, and only uses Eitaa and Bale social networks, where all articles, texts, and video clips of speeches are uploaded.
