The Minister of Communications’ reaction to Eitaa’s disruption was a hardware issue that has been resolved.

Isa Zarepour, Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the domestic messaging app Eitaa had a hardware problem which has been resolved, and efforts are being made to prevent people from experiencing such disruptions.

The domestic messaging app Eitaa has experienced repeated disruptions in recent months, but today, Wednesday, April 4th, Zarepour said on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting that while disruptions in messaging apps are natural, their repetition is not.

He promised that the quality of domestic messaging apps would improve and that a second data center is being set up for them. According to him, with the establishment of the second data center, these issues will be resolved.

A few years ago, Iranian officials launched domestic messaging apps to replace ones like Telegram and WhatsApp.

In Iran, about nine domestic messaging apps are operational.
