Minister of Science: Many Iranian professors are unaware of modern technologies

Hossein Simayi-Sarraf, the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, emphasized the importance of the mentoring role of professors in a conversation with IRNA. He stated that many professors at Iranian universities are currently unaware of modern technologies because international connections have been severed, and they have lost the opportunity for scientific updates.

He stressed that a professor should be a mentor, not just a teacher, and added that our professors often do not know what issues occupy the students’ minds and lack the ability to connect with the new generation.

This was mentioned while in recent years, the Islamic Republic has dismissed many elite and prominent university professors for political or ideological reasons.
