The Minister of Tourism of Iran stated that tourist SIM cards have no relation to capitulation.

Ezzatollah Zarghami, the Minister of Tourism, once again spoke about tourist SIM cards during a meeting with Iranian tour guides. He mentioned that when foreigners come to Iran, they need to have a SIM card so they can stay in touch with their families and send their souvenir photos.

Mr. Zarghami also mentioned that when we say ‘give them a SIM card,’ everyone attacks and mistakenly compares it to capitulation. This has nothing to do with capitulation, but rather it is a basic need for tourists.
