Minister of Communications Requests Removal of Google Play Filter

The Minister of Communications has requested the removal of the Google Play filter.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eisa Zar’epour, announced the proposal of the ministry to lift the filter on Google Play on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting. He mentioned that 12 members are involved in the Computer Crimes Act and a decision needs to be made on this matter. We have requested the removal of the filter on Google Play, and our opinion is in favor of reopening it. Nevertheless, other colleagues have different opinions.

He stated that we have proposed for the filter on Google Play to be lifted, and we have also taken action. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology had previously announced the inclusion of lifting the filter on Google Play in the agenda of the working group for determining criminal content.
