The Minister of Guidance claims that fifty million people are members of domestic social networks.

The Minister of Culture and Guidance claimed that following the events of last year, a migration plan was formed to at least provide the grounds for people to migrate to domestic social networks considering the threats and risks of foreign social networks. We have been successful in part of the plan, for example, now close to fifty million Iranians are members of new social networks.

He stated that prior to this, seventy percent of internet usage in the beginning of September 2022 was related to foreign social networks and thirty-five percent to domestic ones. However, with the migration plan, we have improved this figure. For example, in the Azan software, even movies and series are now being uploaded.

Ismaeili added that in the display council of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, a hundred films are requested for licensing annually and there are strict inspections. However, the latest foreign films are widely available with minimal scrutiny and are viewed by everyone, with scrutiny being applied after uploading and viewing.
