Political activist Minoo Khaleqi insults the audience’s intelligence by saying ‘We don’t have hijab enforcers.’
Political activist Minoo Khaleqi, a reformist, criticized Iranian officials for being disconnected from the aspirations and thoughts of the current young generation, by questioning election candidates about their stances on women’s issues.
In an interview with the ILNA news agency, she mentioned that candidates do not explicitly promise to appoint a female minister in the cabinet, but thankfully, they all support women’s rights.
This reformist political activist also commented on election candidates, stating that some have over 40 years of executive experience and each of them perpetuates unequal conditions in women’s rights discussions, suggesting that women may need to seek apologies.
Ms. Khaleqi states that saying ‘We don’t have hijab enforcers’ in debates is an insult to the nation’s intelligence, as according to her, girls are being harassed for discussing the ‘Sili Light’ project, wrapped in blankets and thrown into cars.
Ms. Khaleqi also believes that the cold atmosphere of the election campaign is not related to these elections. In 1400, we witnessed sanction-like behaviors, and in the past Esfand, we had cold and unparticipated elections.
