Iranian Missiles and Drones on the Way to Russia
According to the American magazine Forbes, Russia has employed hundreds of its explosive drones against the Ukrainian power grid since September 2022.
Iran possesses faster and more deadly drones and short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM), which it may supply to Moscow after October 2023, when a key condition in UN Security Council Resolution 2231, adopted in 2015 to restrict Iran’s missile exports, expires.
In December, Axios reported that Iran intends to limit the range of the short-range ballistic missiles it supplies to Russia.
Tehran wants to refrain from violating UN Resolution 2231, which prohibits Iran from exporting unarmed aircraft or SRBMs with a range exceeding 300 kilometers (186 miles) and payloads greater than 500 kilograms until October 2023. Violating this resolution would result in an immediate return of UN sanctions.
