Mizan News Agency: Majid Nouri handed over to the Iranian consulate in Sweden.
Majid Nouri, son of Hamid Nouri, who Iranian media had reported his detention in Sweden, was released on Tuesday, 12 Farvardin, according to Mizan News Agency.
According to the Judiciary’s news agency, Majid Nouri has been handed over to the Iranian consulate in Sweden following the efforts of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the International Deputy of the Judiciary.
Atieh Nouri, daughter of Hamid Nouri, had previously stated that her brother had gone to Sweden to meet their father and was detained there.
Swedish police had stated yesterday in response to queries that they would not comment on Majid Nouri.
Hamid Nouri, a former deputy warden at Gohardasht prison, was arrested in Sweden on 18 Aban 1398 on suspicion of involvement in war crimes and deliberate killing of political prisoners in the 60s SH. After a lengthy trial, he was sentenced to life imprisonment on 13 Ordibehesht 1401. Hamid Nouri’s request for clemency was rejected in Esfand 1402.
