Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf was approved for candidacy.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who was recently elected as the Speaker of the Parliament, registered for the fourteenth presidential election on June 4, 2024, and was approved for candidacy today.
Ghalibaf, who served as the mayor of Tehran for three four-year terms from 2005 to 2017, is now a member of the Expediency Discernment Council. In the eleventh parliamentary elections, he successfully secured the first position from the Tehran constituency to enter the Parliament. On May 28, 2020, he was elected as the Speaker of the Parliament with the majority vote of the representatives.
