Mohammed bin Salman set out for France to meet Macron

The Saudi Arabian Royal Court announced that Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the country, has set out for France on a state visit at the invitation of Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.

It is expected that the two sides will discuss, in addition to bilateral relations and economic and strategic cooperation, the developments in the Middle East, the Iran-US conflict, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi Arabia and France have been consulting in recent months about reducing regional tensions. Macron and Mohammed bin Salman had previously emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and supporting diplomatic efforts.

France has also announced its readiness to participate in an international mechanism aimed at ensuring the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz following the reduction of conflicts.
