Mustafa Tajzadeh, a political prisoner, salutes the people who, by not voting, said no to absurdity.

Mustafa Tajzadeh, a political activist imprisoned, said in letters to his compatriots who, by not voting, showed greatness by saying no to absurdity, I salute you.

In this letter, published on his Telegram channel on February 4 from Evin Prison, Mr. Tajzadeh said, ‘As an Iranian who is only serving time in prison in protest of the performance and anti-Iranian policies of the ninth leader, I pay my respects to compatriots who voted and to those who, by not voting, showed greatness by saying no to absurdity.’

He said, ‘I have no doubt that Iranians will hold free elections sooner than republicans imagine and will entrust the country’s destiny to the hands of powerful, legitimate entities composed of real representatives of the people.’

Mr. Tajzadeh said, ‘If the Assembly of Experts was the result of free elections and the real votes of the people, it could have compelled Mr. Khamenei to yield to the views and demands of the majority of determined citizens, to give in to structural and policy reforms, and if necessary, to resign or be impeached.’
