Narges Mohammadi was sentenced to another year in prison by the Revolutionary Court.
Mostafa Nili, the lawyer of Narges Mohammadi, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and imprisoned human rights activist, announced the new sentence of his client to one year in prison.
This attorney announced on Tuesday, June 19, on the X network, formerly known as Twitter, that this imprisoned human rights activist has been sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of propaganda activities against the regime.
According to Mr. Nili, among the reasons and evidence for issuing this sentence were Narges Mohammadi’s statements regarding the sexual harassment and abuse by agents against Dina Ghalibaf, her letter concerning the boycott of parliamentary elections, and her letter to the parliaments of Sweden and Norway. This attorney had reported on June 9 that the trial session of this human rights activist was held in the Revolutionary Court without her presence.
Over the past three years, Narges Mohammadi has been tried six times in revolutionary and criminal courts and has been sentenced to a total of thirteen years and three months in prison, 154 lashes, exile, and four months of street cleaning.
She has been tried and sentenced four times for protesting, exposing, and narrating the sexual harassment and abuse by government agents.
