Time magazine included Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, in the list of 100 influential people in the world in 2024.
This list, published in six sections, placed Ms. Mohammadi in the Leaders section alongside prominent figures such as Julia Navalnaya, a political opponent of the Russian government, and the wife of Alexei Navalny; Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister of Poland; William Burns, the CIA director; Javier Milei, the President of Argentina; Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy; and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Qatar.
In the introduction text of Narges Mohammadi written by Nadia Murad, a prominent Iraqi human rights activist, it is mentioned that Ms. Mohammadi’s life is dedicated to fighting against the oppression of women, and her voice is loud and strong even behind prison bars.
Ms. Murad further writes that for decades, Narges has helped Iranian women to have the courage to fight against injustice, and her influence and impact do not fade away within the confines of a country.
